Use Gmail for Online File Storage

Gmail is one of the best products by Google. This webmail service provides about 10 gigabytes of space. Beside using it for usual task of sending and receiving emails, you can also use it for storing your important files. This is not a new thing. Several people are using Gmail for creating a backup of crucial documents. Most of them are using some apps to do this, like GmailDrive.

You do not need any software.As you know, Gmail allows to attach files of size upto 25 MB, in a single email. For storing your files on Gmail, follow these steps:

1. Organise all those files which are to be stored online. Create folders and put files of similar content and nature at one place. For example, you should create a folder named "Certificate" and put all the scanned copies of certificates into int.

2. Now login in to Gmail. Click on compose email. Then write the name of folder in the subject field. Click on Attach File and select all the files of that folder.

3. Send this email to your own email address. 

Whenever you need a file, you can find by searching in the search box provided on the Gmail page.

If you want to keep your email address only for emailing purpose, you should create a new email address for storage purpose.You should have strong password and never let anybody to know it. Your files will remain secure on Gmail server.
